This is a development of what is known as machine learning. Machine learning is a set of techniques with a clear goal: to “discover meaningful information from data”, this is, to take a great amount of data, which can include numbers, pictures, words, audios, etc. and finding there everything that can be useful for the purposes of a given project (Glassner, 2018).
Deep learning is a kind of machine learning that works with a configuration made in layers of information supporting each other, which allows a transversal movement for searching and connecting between data. Being a multileveled structure, it can be seen as having the dimension of depth, from where the name comes. This technique is based on algorithms that move between data and, depending on the conditions of the search, discover the relevant information. It is said that the father of this technology is the cognitive psychologist and computation scientist Geoffrey Hinton, who developed important perspectives about intelligence from his research and theoretical models (Skansi, 2020).
Many companies in the world are using this approximation to information management in order to intelligently use all data collected daily and thus improve their productivity. However, as it has a close relation to Artificial Intelligence, this has also been a computational model that is bringing important developments to psychology, philosophy and neuroscience (Skansi, 2020).
