A software license is the permission given by the creator of a software service in order for it to be used. This permission stablishes different aspects of the usage: schedules and deadlines, permitted functionalities, the number of allowed users or the devices that can use the product, the uses the product can have, related to the laws in the region where it is used, etc. For obtaining this license there is the need to sign an agreement usually known as end-user license agreement. This means that the user doesn´t buy the software but they just buy the permission to use it for a contracted period of time depending on the agreed conditions.

The licensing scheme is related to al the structures and regulations that take part in the process of acquiring the license. These schemes vary regarding each software development because each of them stablishes with the users the agreements for the use that is suitable for each party.

First, many non-official products are illegal, and for this reason companies can’t use them without receiving punishments; in addition, original products include support benefits for adapting the software to the needs of each user, guarantee when there are failures in service, and richer and more flexible functionalities.
