Where will hyperautomation go in 2023?

Along with artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things and some other new technologies, hyperautomation is consolidating as one of the needs of today’s organizations to achieve success in their processes in the fast-changing and fast-paced world we live in. Therefore, we want to share some aspects of this technology in its future development, especially for 2023.

The determining aspect of this new importance that hyperautomation is acquiring is the totally transformed environment in which we are living: “Two years ago, the onset of Covid-19 brought not only a global health crisis but also business chaos. Economic challenges, supply chain issues, the shift to remote work, evolving company culture and access to data were only a few of the many problems enterprises faced” (forbes.com).

All this rupture, which many have labeled as a crisis, has made the managers of organizations face one of the great fears of business: uncertainty. Thus, technology has become indispensable for corporate management:

Analysts like Gartner propose that robotic process automation (RPA), low-code application platforms, integration platform as a service (iPaaS), artificial intelligence (AI), intelligent document processing and other streamlining hyperautomation technologies are necessary foundational components for addressing critical business demands. In fact, the global hyperautomation software market is predicted to reach $600 billion this year, and every company, no matter the size, needs to get on board. (forbes.com)

This data therefore forecasts a sustained increase in investment in hyperautomation technologies, and forces organizations that have not thought about starting this transition to look for ways to upgrade and begin implementing solutions that streamline their workflow and align all activities in a centralized and integrated system that allows intelligent use of all the information produced during the operation.

In 2023, hyperautomation will counteract uncertainty

As we have already pointed out, the current state of crisis in business, due to the rapidly changing environment, means that uncertainty about the future is becoming more and more pronounced: if variables are constantly changing, and there are also new variables in the picture, then making predictions, knowing how the economy will behave, the demand for certain products, purchasing capacity, etc., becomes impossible with the normal capabilities of human beings.

So, here are the advantages of hyper-automation, which in 2023 will be fundamental for business: if a large number of corporate processes are automated, or even all of them, the information must necessarily be supported on computer platforms and, with this, it is available for analysis to make the right decisions in this changing environment:

Embracing technologies like computer vision, AI, machine learning and building connections with every bit of searchable data can take us to the next evolution of solving what we don’t know. As we head further into 2022, I believe technology will advance in ways that will use data to process the unknown better as it learns to build context and connections from that available data. We are seeing, then, an advance of what was known as Big Data. Now, with the interconnection enabled by the Internet of Things and other automation technologies, you can achieve hyper-automation and have all the information for predictive analytics. This brings the organization up to date with the pace of the world: “Embracing a digital-first strategy with hyperautomation can help navigate complexities and the distribution ubiquity”.

With this, 2023 looks to be a year of great expansion for all automation processes, which means that the competitiveness and pressure that organizations must accept to be at the top of quality and customer preference will rise:

In a recent IDC webinar, analysts predicted that “By 2023, 50% of all supply chain forecasts will be automated using artificial intelligence, improving accuracy by 5 percentage points.” This 5% could be the equivalent of saving millions of dollars for manufacturing companies. (forbes.com)

The question is no longer whether or not to automate, but when and how far to automate, and what is the expected scope of this process.

This vision is what most motivates our work at Dexon Software. We know that process automation is a reality that is here to stay. That is why we are committed to bringing our customers solutions that align their processes with information technology and gradually automate all their activities as far as the customer needs it. Thus, we have seen many organizations grow and become leaders in the sector where they operate, providing their customers with quality and their employees with a good working environment.
